Health Minister: Liberia Confirms 105 COVID-19 Cases


Health Minister Dr. Wilhelmina Jallah has Confirmed 105 COVID-19 cases in Liberia as of April 23, 2020.

Speaking at a regular press briefing on Thursday Dr. Jallah encouraged Liberians and residents to stay save distances to help contain the further spread of the virus.

Currently she frowned at people are not abiding by the measures, this she noted needs to stop.

The Liberian health Minister at the same time urged Liberians to desist from dropping old people off the streets including abandoning relatives as a result of sickness or showing signs and symptoms of the virus.

She warned people to respect security personnel when approaching check points and abide by all security measures and at time same time urged security personnel to be flexible and understanding including using their discretions in carryout their security operations.

Providing latest update to the media Dr. Jallah disclosed plans for the setting up of new cites especially at hot spots.

As a result of the further spread of the virus, the Health Ministry Boss wants Liberians to stay at their respective Counties and communities in order to avoid the further spread of the virus in other Counties and Communities respectively.

“We need to increase the number of test per day so we can apply the number of intervention to ensure COVID-19 is over or decline” Dr. Jallah pointed out.

According to her they are working very hard to contain the further spread of the virus but urged the public to help in the process of abiding by the health protocols.
