A tragic motor accident has left atleast two persons dead on the Kakata to Monrovia highway.
The accident according to our reporter, occured wednesday afteenoon when a speeding almera taxi cab head on collided with a yellow bus while enroute to Kakata, Margibi County.
KMTV is yet to independently varify the actual caused of the accident, but eyewitnesses who spoke to our reporter narrated that the incident happened when the grey almera taxi cab was overtaking in the curve and subsequently collided with the bus.
Passerbys and other passengers who arrived on the scene of the incident couldn’t hold back their emotions at the sight of the disater, with many openly crying over the corpse.
Identities of the deceased, however, remain unknown as officers of the Liberian National Police Margibi detachment told KMTV that investigation has been launched to know the real caused of the accident.
There was however no death reported from occupants on the bus that was carry passengers from Kakata, Margibi County to Redlight in Monrovia.
Road accident is said to be on the rise along the Kakata to Redlight highway as several people have lost their lives since the road was finally paved and dedicated by the former government of madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf in 2017.
Since the road was dedicated by the past regime there has been numerous of accidents occuring mainly from excessive speeding and improper overtaking of vehicles by many drivers.
Liberia has a bad road safety record, according to the latest WHO data published in 2018 Road Traffic Accidents Deaths in Liberia reached 1,655 or4.49% of total deaths.
The age adjusted death rate is 52.03 per 100,000 of the population ranks Liberia #2 in the World.
