A Liberian journalist has been brutalized by officers of the Monrovia City Cooperation assigned at the home of Monrovia City Mayor Jefferson Koijee.
Vision TV Manager Bill Diggs and his friend Rosevelt Cephus was attacked late Thursday evening.
The MCC officers on duty at the Mayor home insisted that journalist Bill removed the vehicle that was parking around the mayor house fence on 19street in sinkor, Liberia.
Journalist Bill said the MCC officers flogged and wounded him and he had to run for his life .
The Vision Online TV to boss sustained major wounds at the back of his head why his friend Cephus sustained minor scratches on his forehead.
Meanwhile, Monrovia City Government has with immediate effect launched an investigation into an alleged brutality involving some of its officers.
The MCC release said Mayor Jefferson T. Koijee was not home when the incident occured.
The City Government regrets the unfortunate situation and wishes the victims speedy recovery.
“Let it be made clear that City Government through its Mayor JeffersonT. Koijee doesn’t support any act of lawlessness and as such, an investigation has been launched to establish circumstances leading to the alleged brutality.” The release said.
The City Government assure the Public that any officer found guilty will be dealt with in accordance with the City Police code of ethics.
