Margibi County Electoral District #5 Lawmaker, Representative Clarence Gahr, has identified with the Margibi County Community Watch Forum in the county.
During the Lawmaker’s visit to officials and members of the forum Saturday September 12, 2020 Rep. Gahr made a compassionate cash donation of Six hundred thousand (600,000) Liberian Dollars including two new motorbikes to the community watch forum in the County.
Speaking in Weala Upper Margibi County, the district#5 Lawmaker said the Community Watch Forum is a major boost to the security sector in Margibi and its environ.
He added that members of the Watch Forum have arrested several criminals in Weala district#5 and others parts of the County.
Presenting the cash, Representative Gahr described his gesture as an initial contribution, promising to do more.
“Since this is our District, I thought to officially come and support you. The community Watch Forum has helped in several ways to buttress the effort of our police and immigration officers in the fight against crime across the county. Our office is working with the Justice Ministry to improve the Community Watch team across the country
As an initial intervention, my office is here to present this little token of six hundred thousand (600,000) Liberian Dollars and two new motorbikes.” Rep. Gahr added as he presented the cash.
The Watch Forum through their County Chairman, Sam Zor, expressed appreciation to their Lawmaker, terming his gesture as timely.
Chairman Zor has further promise the Forum commitment in buttressing the effort of Margibi security sector.
The Margibi County Community Watch Team has over the past years provided protection in the absent of the Liberia National Police in Weala Upper Margibi since the burning of the Weala Police station by protesting motorcyclists in the County over the death of one of their member only identified PCK.
