Margibi: Man Allegedly Pours Acid on Fiancee, 3 Others


A man identified as Ezekiel Logan has allegedly poured acid on his fiancée, Cathrine Mentoe, his stepdaughter, brother-in-law girlfriend and an eight-year-old kid in Transit community,  Margibi County.

Community dwellers explained that Mr. Logan and his fiancée have been engaged in a series of verbal clashes mostly surrounding missing finances in their home.

An eyewitness said, Cathrine had spoken to some family member and friends explaining that she was not interested in the relationship anymore and wanted to quit, something that prompted  Ezekiel’s action.

Before the incident which occurred 5:00 AM on Sunday morning, Ezekiel was seen in the community and attended the community club meeting and settled the debt his fiancée was owing.

According to report Ezekiel also offered his fiancé  L$3,000 for food but she reportedly refused the cash and asked him to leave.

The eyewitness also explained that at 5 am Sunday morning September 13, 2020, they heard a knock on the door and when his fiancé’s sister-in-law opened the door, Ezekiel had allegedly poured the acid on her and eventually went to his fiancé’s room and did the same to her, and the kids before escaping.

The victims were taken to a nearby clinic in the community and are currently being treated.

Meanwhile, Margibi County District #1 Representative Tibelrosa Summoh Tarponweh, in whose constituency the incident occurred, sunday visited the victims at the clinic and underwrote their medical bills.
