Man, 27, Placed Behind Bars for Alleged Sexual Assault Against Teenager

Barely few days after the Liberian government announced rape as national emergency following a national conference, a 27-Year-old man identified as Daniel Brown has been accused of Sexual Assault against a 16-year-Old Girl in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County.

Accused Daniel Brown was arrested on Monday, September 14, 2020, by the Bassa detachment of the Liberia National Police and is currently detained while pending investigation.

Police report says, the arrest was made as a result of a complaint filed by the girl’s Mother in which she accused Mr. Browne of allegedly committing Sexual abuse against her daughter at his residence in the Zinc Camp Community.

Quoting her daughter, she stated that suspected Browne, allegedly blocked the 16 years old girl from moving along with some of her friends while coming from a Birthday party and at the same time ordered them to remove their slippers off their feet.

It was reported that accused Browne took a knife against those teenagers on grounds of not implementing his order, something that promoted her friends to escaped from the scene leaving the 16 years old girl allegedly vulnerable.

Also the women and children protection division of the LNP reported that after committing the evil act, accused Browne escape from the scene immediately but was later caught by scores of citizens and residents from different communities in Buchanan.

Meanwhile, suspected Daniel Browne, commonly known as “George Weah Government” has been arrested and place under police custody.
