Who’s Killing Auditors in Liberia? IAA Boss Emmanuel Nyeswa is Dead


The Director-General, Internal Audit Agency has mysteriously died after he reportedly fell at his home in Monrovia at 2 am on Saturday, October 10.

Mr Emmanuel B. Nyeswa has been a long time professional auditor and previously served as Deputy Director-General of the IAA before his appointment in 2018 by President George M. Weah to head the Agency.

Liberians woke up to the news of the forth auditor who has died mysteriously in eight days.

Fear has grasped some Liberians over the situation and are demanding government and international intervention to probe the cause of death.

Recently, employees of the Liberia Revenue Authority, Albert Peters, Assistant Commissioner for Audit and  Gifty Lama, Acting Manager for Tax Services were found dead in a vehicle in the nation’s capital Monrovia.

As investigation was ongoing,  days later, Mr. George F. Fanbutu died in a tragic accident last Sunday after he reportedly lost control why driving on the 72nd Boulevard in Paynesville,  Liberia.

However,  the government of Liberia announces with utter shock and sadness the passing of the head of the country’s Internal Audit Agency, Mr. Emmanuel B Nyeswa.

The government said Mr. Nyeswa is reported to have died at his home in the early hours of Saturday.

Details of the cause of the death of the IAA Boss are scanty.

Meanwhile, the Government of Liberia assures the public that once further details are established, it will be made known.

The Government of Liberia meanwhile sends its deepest sympathy to the family of the bereaved, while also urging the general public to refrain from speculations that could be the source of additional trauma for the family.
