Liberian Police Says, Alleged Criminals Kills One Suspect in Jail

The Liberia National Police has arrested 22 suspected criminals following a vigorous Police raid of a criminal hideout in the Gardnerville community on Saturday, October 24, 2020.

The raid according to the Police was as a result of a tip-off received from the community.

The suspects were taken to the Zone Four police station for screening and subsequent investigation when eight of the alleged criminals currently in police custody beat on one of their colleagues identified as Abraham Dolo.

Police spokesman Moses Carter said, the criminals believed that their colleague was serving as a spy ,giving the police information relative to their criminal hideout.

As a result of the beating, suspect Dolo fell unconscious and was immediately rushed to the Redemption Hospital where he was pronounced dead by the doctor on call.

Suspects currently in Police custody undergoing investigation for alleged Homicide are Emmanuel Mulbah 22, Robert Willie, LawrenceYorhn 22, Lomie Kanneh 28, William Simbiana 23, Benjamin Williams 24, Victor Manneh 21, and Henry James 24.

In another development, the Liberia National Police has arrested, investigated, charged, and forwarded to Court a 38 year- an old man identified as Jerry Gibson, for alleged aggravated assault and criminal attempt to commit murder.

Suspect Gibson was arrested on October 20, 2020, based upon the complaint filed against him by victim Rebecca Manjoe who is a resident of Old Matadi, Sinkor.

Rebecca in her complaint alleged that suspect Gibson accused her of taking his money which prompted a heated argument between them.

She added that during the argument suspect Gibson wasted water from a hot boiling rice  on her body which resulted in sustaining multiple wounds.

LNP revealed that suspect Jerry Gibson admitted to the allegation levied against him during the investigation and has been charged with the crime Aggravated Assault and criminal attempt to commit murder and has been forwarded to court for prosecution.

Meanwhile Police in Saclepea, Nimba County has arrested a 64-year-old man identified as Peter Yeegan for allegedly raping a 5-year old minor in that part of the country.

He has been investigated, charged, and also forwarded to court for an alleged statutory rape
Suspect Peter Yeegan who is a resident of Yeegapa Community secretly entered the little survivor’s grandmother’s room during the night hour and sexually abused her.

At the same time in River Gee County Police Detachment has launched an investigation into the alleged aggravated assault incident that occurred in Tartuken Village.

It was alleged that a man identified as P.C.K. stabbed 26-year-old Habakkuk David several times on his body and escaped to an unknown destination.

The victim is presently admitted at the Fish Town medical Center undergoing treatment as police continue its investigation.
