National Elections Commission (NEC) on Tuesday officially certificated five winners of the recent December 8, 2020, midterm senatorial elections.
The five winners met and passed all of the processes to be certificated, according to NEC.
Senators-elect Prince Kermue Moye, of Bong County(CPP), Nyornblee Karnga- Lawrence of Grand Bassa county(CPP), Emmanuel James Nuquay of Margibi County (PUP), Abraham Darius Dillon of Montserrado County (CPP) and Jonathan Boycharles Sogbie of Rivergee County (CPP) are the five winners that were certificated.
Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, Senator Abraham Darius Dillon urged his fellow Senators to work in the interest of the state.
Senator Dillion said going at the legislature is a difficult task and as such, the interest of the people should be prioritized.
Dillon further encouraged his colleagues to declare their assets upon taking the oath, something he believes will show transparency and accountability to the citizenry.
The remaining ten counties are yet to be certificated due to claims and counterclaims amongst some candidates in their counties.
