LRA Tax Award Winner Solomayne Dialloh Wants Liberians Pay Taxes


A businessman in Robertsport, Grand Cape Mount County Solomayne Dialloh, has been awarded the 2018-2019 Tax contributor by the Liberia Revenue Authority.

Dialloh was awarded for his commitment and dedication to paying his taxes to the government of Liberia.

According to him, it is important for citizens to pay taxes because the revenue generated helps the government construct roads, schools, hospitals, pay workers, and others.

He said, if citizens fail to pay taxes it will be difficult for the government to undertake major developments in the country.

It can be recalled, that the Liberia Revenue Authority appreciated about 44 individuals, businesses, and organizations for the vital effort in supporting the development agenda of the country through the payment of their taxes.

The awards and recognitions in the categories include Most Compliant Taxpayers, Highest Tax Contributors, Large Tax, Medium Tax, Small Tax, Petty Trader, Real Property, highest taxpayers per counties among others.

The ceremony was held under the theme “Enhancing Tax Compliance Through The Use of Electronic Services”.

” Most of our business people in Robertsport and other parts of Liberia don’t know how to pay taxes when people tell them about it, some can say we are not foreigners to pay taxes, and this is a bad practice that hinders the development of the country, he explained.

” He at the same time said, that Liberian complain of road connectivity whereas, they fail to pay taxes and maintained, that paying taxes will kick Liberia out of underdeveloping status.

Speaking in an inclusive interview with our reporter, Dialloh said, it is his second time to receive an award from the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA).-30-
