President Weah Declares Special Election Day as Public Holiday


Liberia President George Weah has declared Tuesday December 8th 2020 as a public holiday.

According to a release on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Facebook social media platform, President Weah call on all citizens and Foreign residents in the country to observe Tuesday as a public holiday to allow Liberians cast their votes peacefully.

The release stated that, all public and private institutions, including businesses and market places are to be closed from 6am -6pm, allowing everyone to exercise their voting rights.

The Liberian leader has also encouraged all Liberians to observe all health protocols related to COVID-19 as the sickness is still around.
