Construction works will shortly commence for a modern market structure in the slump community of West Point in Monrovia, Liberia.
The Government of Liberia is undertaking the project to replace the West Point old market huts and provide a modern market building and facilities for vendors and shoppers in the area.
According to the Deputy Presidential Press Secretary Smith Toby, another structure will be built in the Waterside community few miles away from the West Point market facility.
He said at a news briefing, it is aimed at easing the traffic congestion along the road due to less space for business transactions; which he said will be built in ninety days by the Liberia Agency for Community Empowerment (LACE).
On the issue of roads, Mr. Toby said, the President is visiting roads under construction in Montserrado County, and stated that the Johnsonville Road project is nearing completion.
In another development, the Deputy mouthpiece of Liberia’s President disclosed that the President will on tomorrow February 3,2021 hold the first cabinet meeting this year at the Foreign Affairs and top of the meeting agenda will be Agriculture and the ways to improve food production in the country.
