The Liberian Government has received 56,800 rapid antigenic tests and four OSIRIS3 transport respirators from France.
The amaterials were accepted by Presiden George Weah at the Roberts International Airport as he arrived from Paris, France recently.
President Weah thanked the government and people of France for their continuous support to Liberia, as the country is battling the new wave of the virus.
Mr. Weah said the government is feeling France’s impact and contributions towards the fight against covid in the country as he assured Liberia’s commitment to the French nation.
Presenting the rapid antigenic tests and OSIRIS3 transport respirators, France Ambassador to Liberia, Michael Roux said, France has an interest in the health of the Liberian people and such donation will help save lives.
The rapid antigenic tests will allow the Health sector to reorganize and decentralize the detection tests for Covid-19, and to relieve the congestion of the National Reference Laboratory which conducts the PCR tests,.
It will speed up responses to users and encourage covid positive patients self isolate quickly, which will help counter the spread the virus.
At the same time, the OSIRIS3 transport respirators, made in France and designed by Air Liquid will equip ambulances and make safer transporting of people in severe form.
