According to the U.S. Embassy near Monrovia, the donated vaccines are part of the global effort by the United States to fight the COVID-19 pandemic and the U.S. pledge to provide at least 25 million of 80 million doses to Africa.
Speaking on behalf of the U.S. Government, Ambassador Michael McCarthy said, the government and people of the U.S. are pleased to continue working with Liberians and their government in order to mitigate the covid pandemic.
“TO EVERYONE WHO HAS NOT BEEN VACCINATED, I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO DO SO AS I DID AS SOON AS YOU HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY”, Ambassador McCarthy encouraged people in Liberia.
