The Liberian football governing body has confirmed that a 33-man delegation of the LFA has left Monrovia for Alexandria, Egypt to honor an international friendly encounter with the Pharaohs.
The international friendly with Egypt will take place at the Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria on 30 September.
The delegation which is headed by Liberia Football Association boss Mustapha Ishola Raji left Monrovia, Liberia early Tuesday, 28 September onboard an ASKY airline.
It also includes Deputy Sports Minister Andy Quamie, Nimba Kwado President Tomah Seh Floyd, Jr. and LFA media manager Danesius Marteh.
Others are head coach Peter Butler, deputy coach Christopher Wreh, goalkeeping coach Sunday Seah, physical trainer George Gebro, administrative manager Sebastian Collins, team doctor Torsou Jallabah, medic Boakai Abu Kamara and equipment manager Tommy Johnson.
Players include LPRC Oilers goalkeeper Alpha Eshaka Jalloh and defender Ben Benaiah and striker Van Dave Harmon, who is on trial in Egypt.
Liberia will use the match to prepare for back-to-back World Cup qualifiers against Cape Verde in October.
Coach Butler is unable to invite foreign-based players because the FIFA window, which obligates/mandates clubs to release their players called-up for international duties, runs from 3-13 October.
The Liberia Lone Star and the Pharaohs of Egypt have met five (5) times between 6 January 1989 and November 7, 2019 with Liberia winning 2 and losing 3 times to the Egyptians.
Liberia last played Egypt in another international friendly in November of 2019 in Alexandria with Peter James Butler as the head coach and they lost 1-0 in that fixture.
Since his appointment as manager of the Lone Star, Butler has played 14 games winning just five and losing 7 with 2 draws recorded by the Englishman.
The team began training at the Samuel Kanyon Doe sports complex practice pitch in Paynesville on 20 September.
The delegation will return to Monrovia on 2 October.
