“I want to be grateful to the people of Grand Bassa County for hosting us and also want to appreciate our sponsors, ORANGE Liberia, DOXX Bet and Petro Trade.” The Liberian football Chief asserted.

“Many thanks for the supports of all stakeholders and Executive Committee of the LFA and with the power vested in me as president of the LFA, I officially declare the ORANGE 2021/2022 National League open”, Raji added.

The LFA Super Cup is traditionally used to kick start new league campaign.

This year’s edition saw League champions Determine Girls battling Petro Trade Cup winners Earth Angels in the Women’s category, whilst Orange First Division champions, LPRC Oilers locked horns against FA Cup holder Monrovia Club Breweries.

Determine Girls unleashed their wrath against regular rivals Earth Angels 7-0 in the Women’s category with a hat-trick each from Elizabeth Tamba and Marthaline Moore alongside a goal from Catherine Henry.

Elizabeth Tamba was also named player of the match in the Super Cup following her excellent performance which saw her side collecting a resounding victory over the Angels.

In the men’s category, champions LPRC Oilers proved themselves strong over their League One counterparts Monrovia Club Breweries.

A goal each from Brandon Yaya Debah, Benjamin Sarkoh, wonder-boy William Freeman and James Richardson were sufficient to gave the Oil boys Super Cup crown for the first time since 2002.

The 2021/22 season will get underway with regular league games in the Second Division on Tuesday, November 2, 2021.

The top tier will begin on Wednesday the 3rd of November with matches at different venus across the country.

Like the previous seasons, there are 14 clubs participating in the Second Division and 12 in the First Division.

Each club in the Second tier league will play 26 league games throughout the course of the season, whilst clubs in the top league will have 22 games each to play in the season.

LPRC Oilers are the standing champions of the First league with Heaven Eleven (now playing in the First Division) as the defending champions of the Second Division.

They became the first Yekepa Club ever to win a major league title (precisely the Second Division title) in the Liberian football league.

Determine Girls are champions of the Orange National League Women’s Division having won the title for the first time last campaign.
