Over $600,00 Liberian Dollars’ worth of marijuana were Thursday confiscated by officers of the Liberia National Police.
The marijuana, sixty pieces, well compressed by the traffickers, were arrested Thursday at 11:50am by vigilant police officers.
According to Police Spokesman Moses Carter the drugs were being transported in a blue Totota Corolla Station Wagon marked A2-12698 and operated by a man identified as Morris Kandakai along with suspect Michael Stephens.
Mr. Carter told reporters at a news conference Thursday that the Police and the Drug enforcement agency remained very robust in fighting crimes and drug abuse as a means of saving the future of the current generation.
Currently he indicated that the suspects all males are in police custody while investigation is said to be ongoing.
The arrest of the huge quantity of drugs came less than twenty-four hours after KMTV News investigation revealed and reported an increase in drug trafficking and abuse mainly among young people in schools and other familiar areas.
The situation which is worrisome on a daily basis requires practical solutions like the arrest by the police and even much more tangible action, added A concern Liberian.
