About hundred copies of the national youth manifesto were today,Monday June 25,2018 presented to the UNFPA and the Federation of Liberian Youth (FLY)
The presentation was in fulfillment of a commitment made to the young people of this Country by Action Aid Liberia.
The submission of the so far only national youth document brings to the completion of a task given to the youth development group (Action Aid Liberia) says Elizabeth Gbah Jehnfon of Action Aid Liberia.
She thanked other youth groups for working with them since 2016 to ensure the realization of the document.
Receiving the document onbehave of the Country Representative of the UNFPA was Comfort Dunbar Kollie Program assistant of the UNFPA who commended all participating parties for a job well done.
In her brief remarks madam Kollie reaffirmed UNFPA’s continuous support to youth development especially making sure that every young person realized its full potential across Liberia.
She said the document is not strange to the youth community including the Country at large due to it’s huge discussions and publicity during the 2017 general elections.

The UNFPA program assistant at the turning over ceremony wants all seven pillars indicated in the national youth manifesto to be turn into interventions for the benefit of all young people.
“We are happy and ready to support you people and youth development issues generally through whatever means including advocacy”, she added.
Also speaking at the program was the president of FLY Augustine Tamba who termed the turning over of the manifesto as a dream come through for the young people of Liberia.
The document captures seven key areas of concerns for the young people which were concluded after a nation wide consultants since its inauguration in 2016.
Some of the pillars indicated in the national youth manifesto are:Education, Quality Health for all,sexual and reproductive health and rights,youth with disabilities, Job creation and empowerment amongst others.
According to Tamba seven Political Parties during the process affixed their signatures to ensure the implementation of the youth national instrument.
They are: Ruling Coalition for Democratic change(CDC),Unity Party,(UP)Liberty Party (LP),Movement for Economic Empowerment (MOVEE) and Grossroot Democratic Party of Liberia.
The FLY boss also noted that the UN resident Coordinator including Carter Center Chief of Party also signed the national youth document.
Mr.Tamba who frowns at the 2013 youth document that is currently languishing before the national legislature but notes that the current youth manifesto is now and the only outstanding youth development document that should be seriously looked out for the benefit of all young people.
He promised that the youth group will work hard to make available copies of the document to all necessary people including making available social media soft copies link for all Liberians including policy makers.
“It is my hope that the document which is now a rich national youth instrument will be translated into programs action”,he added.
