AFL Major Earns Master in Defense and International Studies From Ghana

A Liberian Solder, Maj. Soko S. Sirleaf of the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL), has graduated from the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) .

Maj. Sirleaf earned a certificate Pass Staff Course (psc) and Master in Defense and International Studies (MDIP) from GIMPA.

“The Role of the Armed Forces of Liberia in the Post Conflict Era: Challenges and Prospects” was his Thesis topic.

Maj. Sirleaf also received certificates for successfully completing the following, Defense Management Course, Conflict and Crisis Management Course, United Nations Peace Support Operations Course, Exclusive Economic Zone Operations Course and Counter Terrorism/Counter Improvised Explosive Devices.

Besides, he holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management (BBA) – AME University and Diploma in Public Sector Management – Institute of Public Administration and Management/University of Sierra Leone.

Currently, Maj. Sirleaf is the Deputy Chief of Logistics of the AFL.

He has held the following appointments within the AFL: Logistics Officer – 2nd Infantry Battalion, Logistics Officer – 23rd Infantry Brigade, Deputy Asst. Chief of Staff for Logistics – HQ AFL, Deputy Asst. Chief of Staff for Plans and Policy – HQ AFL, Acting Asst. Chief of Staff for Logistics – HQ AFL.

Prior to attending GAFCSC, the AFL Deputy Chief of Logistics completed the following courses: Quartermaster Staff Course (Distinguish Graduate) – Peoples Republic of China, Maneuver Captain Career Course (MCCC) – USA and Junior Staff Course (Best Allied Student) – Horton Academy, Sierra Leone.
