Albino Society Boss: “We Have Come To Wipe Your Tears”


The average availability of health care facilities in Liberia to patients is still a challenge, though there are some efforts been made by national Government and partners to help address the situation, however, more still needs to be done.

In the wake of some of the challenges with the people been at the center of its all, there are some groups who are turning the wheel around in a bid to help arrest the situation for the better.

One of such groups, is the Liberia Albino Society (LAS)

The Humanitarian organization since 2012 continues to render free medical services to Liberians especially less fortunate people in the densely populated communities of the Country.

At one of its Free medical outreach activities On Saturday February 22, 2020, the Executive Director of “LAS” Madam Patricia Logan said she has come to wipe away the tears of her people in the slum communities.

The beneficiaries she noted have been in desperate need of such medical services but are unable to seek it due to financial challenge.

“You People suffered for too long to get free medical attention but we have come to rescue the situation”, she noted.

She encouraged the people to make the clinics and hospitals of Liberia their friends in order to remain healthy and to live long.

The LAS boss warned local residents to be careful in purchasing drugs from buckets and corner-side including unrecognized drugs stores.

Madam Logan disclosed that the year 2020 will see more fake drugs entering other Countries including Liberia as such Liberians should be on the alert and to know where and how they seek their critical health needs.

As the beneficiaries most of whom were pregnant women, baby mothers and children between the ages of two to five years’ shower praises on Madam Logan, she was also quick to urge them mainly the young mothers to take seriously the spacing other their children in order to reduce burden on the family and the Country at large and to as well avoid the increase in poverty rate in the absence of proper financial and other care for them.

Meanwhile the day long exercise in District fifteen (15) Montserrado County, Logan Town Community to be exact saw over two hundred happy mothers and kids who could not afford neither imagine anytime soon and where they were to attend any health facility due to current hardship walked away with smiles on their faces after receiving professional medical checkups, treatment and about nine different sets of medicines including Vermont, Ferrous, Folic Acid, Paracetamols, Flagyl syrup and many others.
