Former national team skipper Anthony Snoti Laffor has signed a new two-year contract with Mamelodi Sundowns, lasting until 2021 with an option for a further year.

The 33-year-old whose future at the club has been uncertain, joined Sundowns from SuperSports United in October 2012. Since joining the club, he has won the league championship on three occasions, the Nedbank Cup, the Telkom Knockout, the CAF Champions League and Super Cup.

He has scored three goals and one assist in ten appearances across all competitions this season.

Minutes after renewing his contract, Laffor wrote on his official Instagram account, “I’m delighted to have agreed on an extension to my contract with Mamelodi Sundowns FC.”

The forward, who will be turning 34 on February 17, said the past eight years with the club have been the happiest moment of his career, adding, “I’m extremely grateful to the President, Mr. Motsepe, for affording me the opportunity to be a part of the Masandawana family for as long as I have been to date. To my coach and the management, my team mates and most importantly to you the supporters and football loving fans, it is all of you who inspire me to go out on the field and give my best each and every game and I look forward to further exciting and successful times ahead, on and off the field of play.”

Laffor could be back in action on Friday, February 1, as they take on ASEC Mimosas in the 2018/2019 CAF Champions League.
