Auditor of LBDI Dies in Tragic Motor Accident in Buchanan

Buchanan-An assigned auditor of the Liberia Bank for Development and Investment (LBDI) Joseph Anthony Jarbo, has been pronounced dead by medical practitioners at the Liberia Government Hospital after a tragic motor accident in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County.

The accident, according to report occurred early Saturday, January 30, at 4:20 am around the “God Blessed You” Community in Buchanan City when Mr. Jarbor was heading towards Monrovia Junction.

Police reports confirmed that the late Jarbo was intoxicated while driving on an excessive speed.

The 39-years-old auditor lost control and eventually ran into a mini medicine store, according to the Police report.

Mr. Stephen Kpor, Deputy Traffic Police Commander of Grand Bassa County narrated, “We discovered this morning when we got on the scene strong bottles of intoxicating drinks in the back of the taxi which is currently in our possession, secondly we also discovered that he was driving on an excessive speed that led him to lose control and left his main lane.”

Commander Kpor added that the late Jarbo served the Liberian National Police for many years and later retired to join the banking sector as an auditor.

“We discovered an ID card belonging to the Liberia National police in his vehicle which have prompted us to do facts checking and documents in our possession clearly shows that the deceased was once a police officer.”
