Following hours of mounting pressure from angry protesters Thursday, Jestina Taylor has been officially released from the St. Joseph Catholic Hospital.
It is still unclear on whose permission and or medical order she was release but she was seen waving to the protesters after their intervention to stage a protest for her release early Thursday Morning.
Jestina was over the period at the St. Joseph Catholic Hospital undergoing medical treatment and was heavily surrounded by police officers during her stay at the Hospital facility.
Madam Taylor was subsequently escorted to the headquarters of the Independent National Commission on Human Rights but is yet up till press time speak with the media on the issue.
The protesters prior to her release were seen blocking traffic, holding placards and singing political songs, “We want Justice and the immediate release of Jestina Taylor, angryprotesters intoned.
Though their mission for her release has been accomplished but circumstances leading to her episode is still unresolved.
The Thursday morning protest at the Catholic Junction led to injuries, assaults of people, stone throwing as well as the damaging of properties including the free movement of people for few hours.
