Cllr. Joseph Nagbe Commissioned As Associate Justice Of The Supreme Court Of Liberia By President George Weah As He Promised To Be Bold,Loud In Interpreting The Laws In Context

President George Weah has commissioned the newly appointed Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Liberia Cllr. Joseph N. Nagbe.
According to the Liberian leader he truly believes in the ability of Cllr. Nagbe and challenged him to deliver to expectation mainly with the confidence he (Dr. Weah ) repose in him.
“I pray and wish that you perform well and interpret the laws of the Country in the best interests of the people” ,President Weah added.
Dr. Weah said the former Senator of Sinoe County has always been a serious minded lawmaker and a lawyer by profession who has been in the vanguard of upholding the rule of law of the land something he hopes should continue at the level of the highest decision making legal body of the Country.
In response Cllr. Nagbe thanked President Weah for reposing confidence in him to serve his people at another level of Government.
He promised by God’s help not to fill him (Dr. Weah)
Speaking at a well attended Commissioning ceremony on Monday August 27, 2018 at the C. Cecil B. Dennis Hall at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the newly Commissioned Associate Justice Cllr. Nagbe said he will join his colleagues to work in the supreme interest of the people especially when public safety is a problem adding by committing himself to respecting the laws and constitution of Liberia.
“I will be bold, loud indeed to interpret the laws within context so that the Liberian people can be in peace” he noted.
Cllr. Nagbe use the occasion to call on the three branches of government to work together as far as the mandate of the constitution is concerned.
He maintained that they must work together as a team to coordinate in the common interest of Liberia.
“It is an appropriate time for me to serve my people at the Supreme Court and i promise to do my best”, Cllr. Nagbe assured President Weah.
He said working together with other branches of government especially the national legislature is very key.
” We will call on you to seek your counsel on critical national issues because we are on one boat sailing together in the interest of Liberia, he indicated.
Cllr. Nagbe served the people of Sinoe County at the Liberian Senate for twelve years and had two years to the expiration of his tenure in 2020 but got the blessings of President Weah to serve his people at the Supreme Court in 2018 a decision that was initially greeted with mixed reactions from the Liberian people with reference to the creation of another bi-election in Sinoe County by the president amidst challenging economic conditions in the Country though others have descending views on the debate.
He was later confirmed by his former colleagues at the Liberian Senate and commended his colleagues for trusting in his ability to work for his mother land.
Senator Nagbe is noted for speaking the truth to national issues,He is a man of high reputation, principal minded, a professional and experienced lawyer, an Educator, Motivator, a role module and a devoted christian amongst others something that prompted President Weah to appoint him to said position.
His commissioning ceremony was witnessed by Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Liberia, Members of the Cabinet and the National Legislature as well as family members and the christian community mainly from the United Methodist Church amongst others.
He is expected to appear at the chambers of the Supreme Court during the next term of court shortly in the wake of current bill of impeachment hanging over one of his new colleagues Kabinet Ja’neh by members of the House of Representatives.
