David Tweh dedicates pre-season MVP award to teammates
Solomon Zeah wins BYC-II
David Tweh has lavished praises on his teammates after being crowned a Barrack Young Controllers 2018 Pre-Season Player of the year.
The BYC superstar conquered nominated teammates Fallah Sheriff and Didier Sosa to win the award for the 2018 pre-season crown that is given to the best player of the club who performed excellently during the team’s league preparation. In addition, all players nominated, but eventually winners, did not have any BYC “code of conduct” violations.
The award voted by the technical staff of the club, was awarded to Tweh for his brilliant and usual show casing during training and test matches. Defender Solomon Zeah of BYC-II was voted pre-season player beating Jerry Vah and William Seigeh.
After collecting his award Tweh heaped praises on his teammates for their help along the way.
“You don’t lift the trophy for best player in any competition without your teammates,” Tweh said in response to the award received.
It is the wonder kid first award since joining BYC from NPA Anchors three years ago and said he is determined to continue his form in the league.
“I’m very happy. I’m sorry some of my teammates did not make the final list but that’s understandable,”
“Wow. It’s incredible. It’s the first time but this award is motivational to me and the entire team, I want to dedicate it to all my teammates because they are the real winners because they supported me in achieving this”.
“I want to firstly thank my team-mates, my coach. I want to thank my family, the entire management.” and others, he added.
“I tell you, 2017 was one of my best years but this season will be even better because we want to win and represent Liberia. I never thought we were going to end the league trophyless but that was it, we need to regroup and win the league for our management and fans who have been with us during our frustrating year”.
“It was a year that was magnificent on a personal level, on a sports level. I would like to thank very warmly everybody who voted for me. To the BYC fans, to the other players thank you.”
For his part Solomon Zeah appreciated the team for such award which he described as one that put players under pressure to perform.
“I feel we won this as a team, and no one should see it as an individual award we all are winners, my one cannot play for BYC so guys thanks for the support”,
Presenting the award to the players BYC president Sekou Konneh urged the two players to see the awards given them as a challenge and not to feel they are the best in the team.
According to him if the players feel they are super stars than they will be heading for a downfall in their career but if they consider themselves to be nothing their game will improve.
“We are awarding you today not because you are extra it is only your time because you fought hard during the pre-season but it must serve as motivation to keep you in good shape for the league”
Tweh not a regular scorer but has a very good form on the ball with his power on the pitch been very exceptional in creating goal changes and eliminating.
He is a player who follows instructions and is as well discipline.
On the other hand honoree Solomon Zeah is a creative central and utility defender who is also very discipline and expensive player.
He wins clear cut tackles and is good both off and on the ball respectively.
The both honorees according to football pundits and fans deserves the awards and are hoping that they can maintain such extraordinary form into the National league which is yet to kick off.
