President George Weah has dismissed with immediate effect Dr. Musoka Fallah, head of the National Public Health Institute (NPHIL).
His dismissal is based on findings and recommendations from a report of the committee set up to probe irregularities at NPHIL within seven-two hours.
Dr. Fallah on August 10, 2020, was suspended for breach of his ethical, professional, and administrative standards in relation to the constant allegation of errors made by authorities of NPHIL during the issuance of COVID-19 test results.
One of the errors in the results from NPHIL was linked to opposition figure Alaric Tokpah, on July 10, 2020.
President Weah has instructed that the committee’s report be published and that the recommendations contained in the report will be fully implemented.
President George Weah thanked Dr. Linda Birch and the members of her committee for the professional and timely manner they carried out the investigation.
Members of the Committee include the President of the Liberia Medical and Dental Council as Chair, Minister of Justice, Deputy Foreign Minister, Mawine Diggs, the Country Representative of the United States Center for Disease Control, and the Country Representative of the World Health Organization.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Director-General of NPHIL Dr. Patrick Kpanyan will continue to act pending further actions.
