Eight FIFA Badged Referees to be Commissioned by LFA


Following their approval by FIFA Referees panal to officiate in international competitions in 2019, eight FIFA badged referees will on Saturday, January 12, 2019, be formally commissioned by the Liberia Football Association (LFA).

A release from the local football house said those to be commissioned include center referees Jerry S. Yekeh, George Rogers, Jr., Hassan Corneh and Slyvina Garnett, the lone female.

This is the first time a female referee from Liberia was approved by FIFA in eight years, according to LFA Director of Referees, Ebenezer Stanley Konah.

Those to be commissioned as assistant referees are Johnson Gbartea, Abraham B. Fahnbulleh, Sekou S. Kanneh and Joel W. Doe, who is making his debut.

Isaac Montgomery, who should have been commissioned, resigned following his appointment as LFA secretary-general in December.

LFA President Mustapha Raji, vice president Wilmot Smith, director of referee Stanley Ebenezer Konah, executive committee member Cllr. Joseph Kollie, who is also president of the Liberia Football Referee Association (LIFRA) and Chief Referee Lamin Kamara will grace the occasion.
