As part of its Initiative to expand operations in Africa, VFS Global and the French Embassy today launched Mobile Biometric Visa Centre in Liberia.
The process which started on the 30th of September 2019, puts Liberia at the 148th position of countries issuing French Visa Service through VFS Global.
VFS Global is the acronym of Visa Facilitation Services Global. It is an out sourcing and technology services company that serves governments and diplomatic missions worldwide. France Biometric Centre which has commence services in the country is rendering services two times every month in Monrovia at the Royal Grand Hotel, 15th Street Tubman Boulevard from 8:00 am to 5:pm.
The decision by France to establish the Biometric Center in Liberia is based on President Weah’s visit to France in 2018 when he emphasized the need to further strengthen the relationship between the two countries.
According to Ambassador Terrence Wills, France Ambassador to Liberia, Liberians have been finding it difficult to acquire French visa because they had to travel to Ivory Coast, but now Liberians will now find it easier through the established biometric center.
He also stated that the more visa applications they receive from Liberia; it will enable the French government to established a permanent center in Liberia. The visa cost is USD 240.00.
Meanwhile, Regional Director COO VFS Global Jiten Vyas said, “we are privileged to extend our association with the Embassy of France by extending our services to a new country of operation- Liberia.
