Nineteen (19) Liberian students on Thursday departed the country for Yamoussoukrou, Côte d’Ivoire for a four-year scholarship at the Institute National Polytechnic Houphoet Boigny.
The 19 students were vetted through a thorough process, according to the office of the First Lady. This batch of 19 young Liberians will join 21 of their compatriots already enrolled.
The opportunity is a dividend of President Weah’s first state visit to Paris, France in 2018. The scholarship was among packages promised by President Emmanuel Macron and was dedicated to the First Lady’s office to foster education for Liberian students, mainly girls, and women.
