Six people have been killed in a “horrific” crash along the Ganta-Gbarnga Highway.
According to reports, a taxi carrying six passengers enroute to Ganta and a trailer loaded with planks were involved in the accident between Plalala and Ganta on Tuesday, July 14. The accident occurred at about 7:48 pm.
All six travellers onboard the taxi died at the accident scene. The travellers were all residents of Ganta, Nimba, who had gone to purchased goods in Monrovia. Palala is about 20 minutes’ drive away from Ganta.
Meanwhile, Nimba County Superintendent Nelson Korquoi has urged businesspeople in Ganta to observe today, July 15, as a mourning day for their fellow business counterparts who met their demise on Tuesday evening.
The corpses of the deceased have been deposited at the Gompa Funeral Palot in Ganta City.
Four of the bodies are yet to be identified, but a lady on board had been identified as a former employee of a betting company, Winners Incorporated Ganta Branch as well as the driver
Police in Bong County have launched an investigation to ascertain the cause of the accident.
