Liberia lone female FIFA-badged referee Sylvina W. Garnett alongside her compatriot, Abraham Fahnbulleh, a FIFA assistant referee on Tuesday, May 25 left Liberia for Guinea Bissau.
The pair will officiate in the West African Football Union (WAFU Zone A) inaugural men’s U-15 Nations Cup which is scheduled to take place from 28-30 May in Bissau.
Garnett and her countryman Fahnbulleh will be joined by eight other FIFA-badged officials for the tournament.
Referees appointed to officiate matches of the tournament include Sylvina Garnett, Liberia, Harouna Coulibaly of Mali, Guinea Bissau’s Gilberto Dos Santos and Swahib Bangura of Sierra Leone.
Abraham Fahnbulleh of Liberia will join Djeneba Dembele of Mali, Kaba Fadiga of Guinea, Mariam Coulibaly of Mali, Die Alse Sylla of Senegal and Precious Amara of Sierra Leone as the assistant referees for the showpiece.
And the referee assessors are President Malang Diedhiou and technical instructor Badara Diatta of Senegal and physical instructor Vieira Carlos Alberto of Cape Verde. Cape Verde, Gambia, Guinea Bissau, Mauritania and Senegal are expected to participate in the finals.
Winners of the group are expected to meet Guinea in the grand finale. Guinea U-15 team won group B which actions took place in Guinean capital, Conakry, at the Stade General Lassana Conte from Friday, May 21 to Sunday, 23 May.
