Government Announces 14 Confirmed COVID-19 Cases In Liberia


Confirmed Corona virus cases are said to be increasing by the day in Liberia.

On Monday, April 6, 2020, Health officials announced a new confirmed COVID-19 patient in the Country.

Though no actual detail has been release up till press time about the new confirmed case as of Monday but the current numerical statistics means that Liberia has fourteen confirmed cases just in three weeks since the first case was confirmed.

However, Health Minister Dr. Wilhelmina Jallah said the new confirmed case came as a result of several testing conducted by health workers.

It came just a day after health authorities announced thirteen cases and three deaths on Sunday.

Meanwhile three persons have so far died of the virus in Liberia as over two hundred tests have been done, said Dr. Mosoka Fallah, Director General of the National Public Health Institute of Liberia.

Up till present there are eight active cases, three recoveries and three deaths respectively.

In the wake of the health protocols and preventives measures respectively,it appears like more efforts and strategists are needed to be put in place to ensure that the virus is contained.

According to experts, there are more corona virus cases in Liberia that are unannounced and unreported as the affected people are living in local communities, this they noted is alarming for the safety of the entire population.
