In a bid to bring to rest speculations and rumors relative to the actual cause of death of the late Broadcast Journalist Zenu Miller, the Government of Liberia has promised to finance an independent pathologist to conduct an autopsy on the body of the fallen journalist.
Addressing Executive Mansion reporters Tuesday February 18, 2020 Presidential Press Secretary Isaac Solo Kelgbeh said government has instructed the family of Mr. Miller not to bury the fallen journalist until an independent pathologist can be selected by them (The Miller’s-Family) in order to know the actual cause of death unlike what is being perceived in the public thus far.
The Government latest decision came following conflicting accounts as well as accusing fingers over the exact cause of death of the versatile journalist.
According to Mr. Kelgbhe the government contrary to speculations and rumors has no records of brutalizing people including journalists.
Moreover, he pointed out that the government does not support media brutality in any from or manner as such it will shoulder the financial burden of the pathologist who will perform the autopsy and come out with independent report which will be made public to the media and the people in general.
He told reporters that the President is concern about the situation and will ensure that the proper things are done to bring the matter to its logical conclusion.
Prior to his death Zenu Miller posted on his Facebook page that he was allegedly flogged by EPS officers at the Samuel Kanyan Doe Sports Complex during the just ended National County Sports Meet and has since then been experiencing pain in his body.
Additionally, in December of 2019 he also posted of his Facebook page about his health condition, disclosed Press Secretary Kelgbeh.
Mr. Kelgbhe encouraged the public including the media not to politicized the death of their colleague but to seek the facts through official medical report.
He said Zenu was a professional and quiet man who served the media community well and it is unfortunate for people to jump quick into conclusion without investigation on the actual cause of his death.
No time frame up till press time has been given the family to select their own pathologist but looking at the nature of the situation, the President’s spokesman is of the conviction that the family will act soon.
However, according to latest medical report quoting John Miller, brother to the late Zenu Miller revealed that the journalist died from hypertension contrary to internal bleeding as was disclosed by his wife recently and in some corridors of the Country.
In Another development the Government of Liberia has announced the official grand breaking ceremony for the expansion of the Robert International Airport Highway on Thursday, February 20, 2020.
The ceremony will subsequently pave the way for the construction of the 44kilo meter stretch of road which will help bring further relieve to the people and Country in general.
