The Executive Director and Founder of Messengers of Peace -Liberia Gwendolyn Myers has been selected as one of the five persons to sit on the Board of Directors of Mediators Beyond Borders International (MBBI) based in the United States.
Speaking in an exclusive interview, Ms. Myers noted that her selection is a recognition of Liberian youths in general.
She used the ocassion to encourage young people of Liberia to work hard in show casing as well as rising the flag of Liberia and impacting the lives of young people in general.
Additionally the peace advocate encouraged young people to become more passionate about their dreams in becoming good leaders who will be willing to serve in all works of life.
Ms. Myers overemphasized that the roles of young people in sustaining the peace in every nation is paramount, therefore she’s calling on all stakeholders to come together to promote the active involvement and meaningful participation of young people in the country.
Gwendolyn Myers head of MOP, is a peace advocate and a human rights expert of the World Economic Forum and is also on the Board of Trustees for Coalition Peace, based in London, United Kingdom.
While Ms. Myers would continue her work here in Liberia to provide opportunities to many young people and strengthen the ties between peace and sustainable development, she would be supporting MBBI to build a more peace and “Able” world.
Mediators Beyond Borders International (MBBI) is a group of multi-disciplinary practitioners uncovering and addressing many contexts of conflict and impacts of trauma on communities.
MBBI builds local skills for peace and promotes Mediation worldwide through capacity building projects and initiatives, International training institute, consultancy and partnership. MBBI approach emphasizes collaboration and inclusiveness.
