Heads To Roll? As President Weah Poised to Act On Task Force Report Soon…


What appears to be another litmus test for President George Manneh  Weah quest to stand firm in taking definite decision against some key members of his cabinet is currently before him.

After a successful investigation, the Trokon Kpeh special task force set up to look into the recent petroleum saga has officially submitted its report to the office of the president as contained therein are lots of recommendations and pending drastic actions to be taken by the Liberian leader, said Smith Toby, Deputy Presidential Press Secretary.

Speaking to Executive Mansion Reporters Tuesday February 25, 2020 Mr. Toby described the report as a big report expected to unearth lots of things in the governing circle.

The Liberian leader he noted is currently going through the report and will act firmly on the proposed recommendations to avoid the recurrence of the recent petroleum saga.

“We have system problems in Liberia and it is experienced in all sectors and it is about time to address them”, Smith told Executive Mansion Reporters.

He said as a testimony of President Weah’s seriousness he attaches to the issue; the chief executive has with immediate effect put a halt to provisional lifting at the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company, the LPRC.

It is now the duty of the importers to work out things in their sector, he added.

Additionally, President Weah has called on relevant Government line Ministries and Agencies to work harder and pay more attention to basic things that are of paramount concerns to the Liberian people.

He placed major emphasis on the Country’s staple food rice and other essential products or commodities for the betterment of the nation and its people.

In another development the President Delay County tour has again suffered another setback with the latest adjustment and rescheduling being put in place by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

“The technicians are reworking the schedule and a new one will be release soon to the Liberian people.

He attributed the latest adjustment to some metropolitan related issues.

Meanwhile Mr. Toby responding to the president seriousness on the fight against corruption question disclosed that the president remained resolve in leaving no stone unturned in bringing to book would be corrupt officials in his Government.

The Deputy Presidential Press Secretary stressed that the CDC led government headed by Dr. Weah will not compromise Liberia’s interest for individual’s interest.
