Firstly, identified in Wuhan China in 2019 December, Coronavirus disease otherwise known as COVID-19 is an ongoing pandemic caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome and has so far affected all sectors of the global village.

Due to its massive spread, the World Health Organization declared the outbreak a Public Health Emergency of International concern on January 30, and a pandemic on March 11, 2020.

As a result of the ongoing Crisis several new self and collective activities and developments have been taking place and are continuing in Liberia mainly among the people unlike before.

According to latest observation and research conducted by our reporter uncovered that regular by-weekly, tri-weekly and daily exercises are taking place in and around Monrovia by Liberians despite age, size or color unlike in the past.

In Liberia regular exercise among the general population is not unique unlike other Countries but not since the outbreak of the COVID-19 as influx of people are now seen on the main streets, communities and local beaches taking different kinds of exercises.

Wearing of face masks, gloves, and other training outfits, the energized Liberians and other national normally jocked from one destination to another with sweat dropping down their chests, faces, legs and hands among others all in a move to remain fate after staying home for several hours, Days and Months in a bid to abide by the lock down measures put in place by National Government.

The regular training session unlike before since two Months now in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis in Liberia also took a different trend in late April and the beginning of May, 2020 as Fathers and Mothers are now taking along with them to the streets, beaches and other places their entire families, children and others to ensure they are all collectively fate.

Fast walking, jocking, running and the performing of other regular exercise/ training gymnastics are the order of the day among the people.

On Sunday, the streets and beaches are seen flooded with cross section of people doing justice to their bodies, their health as their circulatory and respiratory systems appeared to be working as well as performing actively more than ever before.

Additionally, and due to the Crisis, there is also a massive, active and regular practice of hand washing among the people of Liberia unlike before.

Hand washing which is a fundamental sanitation and a good personal hygiene practices are now been welcomed and fully implemented by Liberians in and around the Country and even in their respective homes and Communities.

The people’s current behavior is triggered by the condition of the COVID-19 crisis and in a move to abide by the health measures and to as well stop the further spread of the virus including protecting themselves by staying alive.

Though some people have made it their duty in the past to take regular exercises as well as the active washing of their hands but not with the increasing number of people especially those from all spectrum of the society to include: Men, Women, Adults, Children and many others.

However, regular exercises and hand washing are key to a healthy life and should be encouraged by all Liberians as a new culture as most often practiced in the Western Society but the biggest question is, will Liberians continue such practice of regular exercising and hand washing after the end of the COVID-19 crisis?
