An unidentified man in the Barclay’s Farm community in Herbal, Lower Margibi County on Sunday reportedly set at blaze a three-bedroom apartment after a fistfight between him and the son of the house’s owner.
Eyewitnesses told KMTV that Samuel Kortu, son of the house owner, was involved in a fistfight on Sunday, July 19, with the unknown individual that led the alleged perpetrator seriously injured on his face.
The aggrieved perpetrator, according to eyewitnesses later went to Kortu’s house with gas, and cutlass in search for him, where he later set the house ablaze. “Where is Samuel’s mother, her son hurt me and I am here to pay back, I will kill him and his mother anywhere I see them,” the perpetrator said prior to setting the house ablaze.
The incident occurred when Kortu’s mother had gone for service in the morning and later returned and saw her house burned to ashes.
No casualty was reported from the fire incident, but the house owners were unable to take anything from the house due to the gravity of the fire. Madam Fatu Jallah, owner of the house later burst into tears and said that she had nowhere to go.
