Reigning domestic league champions LPRC Oilers suffered their first defeat of the season after a tough matchday-3 encounter away from home against fierce opponents Nimba Kwado in Sanniquellie.

The Nimba based First Division side snubbed the Oil boys to grab their first win of the season after three round of matches in the 2021/22 Orange National League season on Sunday, 14 November.

Robert Taylor first-half effort was the only difference at the Nimba County Stadium on Sunday evening as Kwado pocketed a vital three points along the road.

Taylor got the opener and decisive goal of the showdown just after 14 minutes and 13 seconds of actions in the blockbusting matchday-three encounter to give the home side a first-half victory.

Oilers came hard on Kwado in the last half of the crucial battle, but the team held onto their lead and ensured they kept their win over the champions.

Though the defending champions dominated the last period of the clash as they took siege of the midfield, but the defense of Kwado was well built especially with the presence of Josephus Mantor who was obviously on top of his game.

The win means Nimba Kwado have finally secured their first three points of the season after 3 games.

The result took Kwado two steps ahead from ninth to seventh place in the table. Oilers dropped three places adrift former standing from 2nd to 5th on the ladder.

In Kinjor, home side Bea Mountain pinned visitors Heaven Eleven 1-0 courtesy of a Kertu Jerbo’s finished.

The match was marred by terrible pitch after a downpour of rain flooded the perimeter making things difficult for the strangers.

The defeat is the first endured by the Yekepa-based Club upon promotion to the top league.

The Gold boys of Bea Mountain moved 2nd on the ladder with 7 points from three league games after two wins and a draw.
Heaven Eleven fell to the eighth spot with 4 points after 3 games.

Freeport FC grabbed their first win of the season against Monrovia Club Breweries at the ATS.

A two-zero win was perfectly enough for the Greens who are still undefeated in 3 games. They have drawn two and collected a win as it stands.

Freeport moved 4th in the standings on 5 points, while Breweries pushed down to the 6th spot on 4 points.

Mighty Barrolle and Nimba United got an equal share of the 3 points at the Doris Williams Stadium in Buchanan after a 1-1 draw.

United came from a goal behind to snatched their first point of the season at the expense of the Rollers.

Both sides are still without a win in the campaign; Barrolle sit tenth, while United recline at the 11th place.

The Kanyan Pepper boys have 2 points, with Nimba United having just a point in three games.

Watanga FC returned to winning ways with a hammering 3-nil victory over Invincible Eleven (IE) at their SKD Mini Stadium home after bowing to a one-nil defeat away at Heaven Eleven in Yekepa last week.

It is now two wins and a defeat in three games for Watanga. IE have one win alongside two defeats from 3 games in the season.

Watanga sit third with 6 points as IE slipped to the ninth place in the rankings on a three points tally.

The biggest drama of the day was a famous 8-2 win by LISCR FC over new boys Sandi FC at the TUSA Field in Gardnersville.

Sandi found an opener earlier in the first half, but the home side LISCR came heavily from behind to demolish the Margibians in what turned out to be a goal-raining contest.

Youngster Joseph Melto Quiah was the man of the day as he bagged his first career hat-trick in the elite division of Liberian football for the Shipping boys.

Christopher Jackson, Maliki Kromah, Mark Karlay, and Albert Karlon all put their respective names on the score sheet for the Shipping boys.

Quiah scored twice in the first half before completing his hat-trick in the 60th minute to take home the match ball.

LISCR moved atop the table on 7 points after two wins and a draw in the opening 3 league’s fixtures.

Sandi are still without a win as they continue to struggle to get adapted to life in the top flight.

They sit at the bottom of the table with only a point after 3 games.
