Liberia President George Weah has again put smiles on the faces of Liberians especially those in the Duala community. Mr. Weah who has always mentioned that Liberians will not be spectators in their own country is continuing his work according to his government promised through the PAPD. After many visits to the newly constructed market in the Duala community, the Liberian Leader has instructed the Liberia Agency for Community Empowerment (LACE) to make changes to the roofs of houses surrounding the Duala market on the Bushrod Island, Montserrado County.
President Weah’s mandate was as a result of his continued tour to the ongoing construction worksite in Duala. The changing of the roofs is to put those houses in good view with the newly constructed market in that community.
Speaking on Monday at the site, LACE Executive Director Pepci Yekeh said the President intends to give the surrounding community a modern look. He noted that the wits are to renovate the roofs and not to demolish the structures or not intended to rebuild a new structure.
Mr. Yekeh said a team from LACE is expected to begin assessment in the area to determine the number of homes that will benefit from the project. He informed the community that the roofing will be completed along with the market. LACE Boss also revealed that the market building is expected to be completed by next month, November 2021.
The LACE is the implementer of the Presidential projects to include construction of the pro-poor housing units and market structures across the country.
