Liberia over the weekend recorded 12 new coronavirus cases and six new recoveries, the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL) data has shown.
Although NPHIL did not provide update on Friday and Saturday, a situation that they have attributed to “technical problem,” the latest data has shown Liberia’s total number of confirmed cases jumping from 199 to 211.
Of the new cases, six are from Montserrado County that has so far recorded 183 confirmed cases since the outbreak, four from Gbarpolu and two from Margibi counties.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in Gbarpolu and Margibi counties to five and 13 respectively. To date, eight of Liberia’s fifteen counties have now reported a case of the coronavirus.
NPHIL data also revealed that additional six new recoveries were recorded over the weekend, totalling 85 recoveries.
The death toll remained the same at 20, with no new deaths reported since May 4. Active cases in the country now stand at 106.
