A Liberian Diplomat assigned to the Federal Republic of Nigerian has raised alarm over the “deplorable state of health” his daughter is going through after being raped.
In an emotional state, the Liberian Diplomat said his daughter’s health is worsening and cost-intensive.
Addressing a news conference Monday, December 6, 2021, the Minister Counselor for Press and Public Affairs at the Liberian Embassy near Abuja-Nigeria expressed a lack of national concern over his daughter’s health.
According to him, though the matter has been forwarded to court for legal proceedings, his daughter health and trauma is deplorable and could “cost her death”
The Diplomat noted that his daughter is going through an emotional and psychological crisis as a result of the rape.
Liberian Minister Counselor for Press and Public Affairs near Abuja, Nigeria, Nat Bayjay told reporters that the situation is causing financial and emotional crises for him and his family.
“Out of fear and intimidation”, he stressed, led him and his family to vacate the premises given him by the government for diplomatic function.
Mr. Nat Bayjay in his statement called on the government especially President Weah to cater to his daughter’s health while the matter goes through court proceedings.
“I believe the president will hear and act on this as a Feminist in Chief” a hope he expressed for the President to intervene swiftly.
Nat Bayjay at the same time told reporters the situation “is a distressful problem that befell his family at Liberian Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria”.
He believes his call to the president to intervene in the rape victim’s health and the psychological situation will yield fruit.
