” It was long coming and at least he has find his scoring shoes,we are so impressed with him since joining us on loan”,said one of the officials of his club.
The home side looked always threatened once Sarkoh was seen on the move in anticipation of causing more danger for them as the defense of Gaborone United was always busy and kept on their heels once Sarkoh was seen making moves in their 18 yard box area.
Nevertheless, Botswanian top side, Gaborone United later got settled in the game and cancelled Benjamin’s match opener from striker Patrick Mbamba and later doubled the score line with two additional goals from the penalty spot which were converted by players: Thatayaone Kgamanyane and Obonwe Maome as the home fans had enough reserve energy to cheer their team.
The visitors were seen demotivated by the two goals deficit but was not the case of the electrifying Liberian skillful striker who in the 85th minutes of the game prove has class and extra ability after perfectly controlling a cross from his team mate, well possessed from his chest inside the home side 18 yard box area and cleverly tops it over the Gaborone’s United goalkeeper who had no answer from Benjamin’s flick-in as the ball was seen rolling into the net, flanked by Sarkoh’s celebration thus recording his first brace for the Notwane Fc.
Benjamin said though he was not happy with the over all result of the match but appreciated God Almighty for answering his prayers to enable him add his name to the team’s scoring sheet this season.
“We played well and I am grateful to my colleagues for the team work and collective spirit including our display today and I know with determination,it will get better soon”,he added.
In other remarks a member of the technical team of Notwane Fc intuned that he was shocked to see the manner and form in which the Liberian striker has adapted to the team’s style of play so early and is optimistic that he will do more once giving the chance and time to perform.
Benjamin said they were narrowly defeated by one of the giants of the BTC top league, however he is hoping to work harder and with God’s guidance he will do his best that is always expected of him from the club and his fans.
He has just two goals to his credit from five league games something he noted going forward is not too bad but he will improve on his scoring ability.
Sarkoh was at the same time quick to commend senior national team head coach Thomas Kojo for his final listing of players for the national team ahead of Liberia’s crucial battle with Dr. Congo on March 22,2019.
” I believe in the players he choose and i am hopeful we will qualify for our third nation’s Cup,he added.
Sarkoh is at the same time hoping in the future to get a call to enable him play for the senior national team having earlier featured for the under 20 team.
The former Monrovia Club Breweries striker used the occasion to encourage his younger colleagues in Liberia and beyond to always remain focused, determined and disciplined if they should move to higher heights in the game.
