The Liberia National Police says, it has arrested 35 year old man, Jonathan Balea, believed to be the alleged killer of a gang leader, Alex Nyontee, alias, “Pharaoh”.
He was allegedly stabbed to death on the new Miami Beach on Saturday, April 6, 2019, according to a police statement.
Eight months after committing the alleged act, suspect Balea was arrested by LNP investigators on Monday, December 9, 2019 in the Fiama Community.
It can be recalled that on Saturday, April 6, 2019, gangs from Fiama headed by Moses Harris, alias, “Man Devil” attacked the gang leader of Paynesville at the New Miami Beach on the Robertsfield Highway allegedly stabbing him to death.
The death of King Pharaoh led to Paynesville gangs vandalizing and burning down the home of the Sinkor gang leader, Man Devil.
Police made several arrest of the suspects involved in the gang battle and forwarded them to court.
Suspect Balea is currently in Police custody and undergoing investigation and will be duly charged and forwarded to court for prosecution in accordance with the laws of Liberia the Police statement said.
Meanwhile, the LNP is calling on the public to always exercise patience in allowing the Police to have time in conducting investigations and desist engaging into mob actions or criticizing it for not immediately arresting suspects.
said the Police statement “The public must understand that some criminal investigations normally take time and most times require the support of community members to help with useful information in arresting suspects”.
