LNP Launches Investigation into Alleged Assault on Vehicle Operator

The attention of the Liberia National Police is drawn to a video footage widely circulating on social media in which one of our officers, along with a traffic Inspector at the Ministry of transport were seen physically assaulting a vehicle operator during the early morning hours of Thursday, April 8, 2021 on the Tubman Boulevard.
The LNP in a release assures the public of the conduct of a Professional Standard investigation to establish culpability with appropriate administrative or criminal investigative actions taken as deterrence to would-be violators of the rule of law.
The family of the vehicle operator has already made contact with the LNP and have been assured of appropriate actions taken in line with the rule of law.
Members of the public are urged to remain very vigilant in reporting any officers’ misconduct, as the administration of Hon. Patrick Sudue will ensure appropriate disciplinary actions taken to discourage wanton abuse of citizens’ rights.
