Margibi Health Team Ends One-Day Media Engagement Workshop on Risk Communication

Margibi County Health Team through its Risks Communication and Community Engagement department, with support from JIPIGO, an International NGO, has ended a daylong Media engagement training with several media practitioners in the County.

The one-day training workshop held on Thursday, July 23, was organized to enlighten media practitioners on their role in the fight against COVID-19, highlighting the challenges and prospects.

About 25 Journalists including Stations Managers, Program and News Directors as well as county correspondents were in attendance.

Media institutions in the county have consistently aired series of radio programs, jingles from health authorities aimed at providing awareness on the prevention of the coronavirus.

Dr. Myers Pajibo, a member of the county’s health team praised the media for their extended awareness and commitment in fighting the deadly virus.

Meanwhile, PUL County Coordinator Patrick CM Kollie lauded the Margibi County Health Team for the training workshop but stressed the need for more media engagement in the process.
