The referee committee of the Liberia FA has revealed the names of match officials who will take charge of the final match-day actions of the Orange National First Division League 2020-21 season.
The final round of matches of the top domestic Liberian football league will take place this Sunday with six matches at five match venues across the country.
LPRC Oilers, the league defending champions who are near lifting their second successive title this season will go head-to-head against relegated side, Nimba FC, with the contest set to go on at the Gompa Sports Stadium in Ganta.
One of Liberia’s experienced FIFA-badged referee George Rogers, will be in the center of that affairs on Sunday. Rogers will be assisted on the lines by Francis Sannoh and Francis O. Bah. Liberia’s chief referee Lamin Kamara will serve as the Reserved Referee whilst Attorney Benedict Yarsiah goes on as the Match Commissioner (MC).
Meanwhile, Washington Dolo has been assigned to ensure fair play between Monrovia Club Breweries and LISCR tight encounter at the ATS on the same match-day. Breweries recently leapfrogged LISCR in the semifinal of the Petro Trade Cup as they [Breweries] went on to win the trophy after beating Watanga 2-1 in the grand finale.
LISCR are keen on getting a comeback revenge against Breweries as they look to strip Oilers of the crown.
The Shipping boys are moving bumper-to-bumper with the league table leaders and defending champions LPRC Oilers and are one point beneath. They have to win against Breweries and hope that Nimba FC hold the Oil boys to a draw or defeat them.
The match will kick-off at 4:00 PM local time. Dolo who is by far one the best referees in the league this season will be assisted by Sekou Kanneh as the Assistant Referee-1 and Julius Pongay as Assistant Referee-2. George Mobo will stand back as the Fourth Referee and Anusa Dulley will be the Match Commissioner.
A refined FIFA-badged referee Hassan Z. Corneh, will stand in-between the duel involving NPA Anchors and Nimba Kwado at the TUSA Field in Gardnersville. Corneh who recently umpired the Petro Trade Cup final between Monrovia Club Breweries and Watanga is heading the team comprising Joel W. Doe a FIFA assistant referee, and Elisha Johnson as the respective assistant referees one and two.
Young referee Stanley Konah will hold the substitution board as the Fourth Referee and Varney Kamara will match commission the game. Kwado will be playing as guest to NPA who are currently fighting for survival from the drop. The match will decide whether NPA will be in the domestic top-flight next season.
Another outstanding referee, Morris Allison has been put in charge of the Watanga versus Small Town clash which will take place at the SKD Practice Pitch. Ephraim Grant will oversee the first touchline as assistant referee number one. David Kollie will be raising the flag on the second line as assistant referee number two.
Rogers Brown and Alvin Wright will serve as Fourth Official and Match Commissioner respectively. In Mount Barclay, home side Nimba United will host Freeport FC in a crucial fight at the North Star Stadium.
The match will be handled by Josephus Torjilar as the main referee. This match is expected to be contentious as the home team United battle for a win in an effort to maintain their stay in the league for the coming season, but Freeport at the same time are looking to end their season on a good note by securing this all-important win.
Torjilar is just the suitable ref for such fight because he is noted for his composure and vigor. He is a commanding referee who is always on top of his game. Gleekan Garteh and Thomas Konneh will stand on the two touchlines as the first and second linesmen. Eric Slassay will signal Torjilar in case there is substitution underway as well as indicates the stoppage time.
The Match Commissioner for this game is Yanqueh Borsay. Abraham Zuah, a promising and consistent referee has been given the authorities to implement the Laws Of The Game (LOTG) in the Mighty Barrolle and Bea Mountain wary matchup at the ATS.
Abraham is the head of a team of referees which has some of the best assistant referees in the national league, talking about Johnson Gbartea and Cunningham Miller who will be waving the flags on the lines.
Kofa Doe, another match official who is well respected when it comes to his knowledge on the Laws Of The Game (LOTG) will watch from behind as the fourth referee and Madam Izetta Wesley, former LFA boss will be the Match Commissioner at the ATS. The game will start at 2:00 PM CET.
