Monrovia, Liberia-The National Elections Commission has officially certificated Abu Kamara of the Coalition for Democratic Change as Representative of Montserrado district #15.
Kamara’s election to the House of Representatives comes barely one month following a disputed July 29 by-election and a re-run at 6 precincts in the district.
He replaces deceased Lawmaker Adolph A. Lawrence.
Speaking during the certification ceremony held at the headquarters of the NEC, Representative Kamara thanked all of his supporters and those who participated in the electoral process that elevated him the Legislature.
Mr. Kamara has meanwhile challenged every resident of his district to come under one umbrella to move the place forward.
“We need to come together as one family”, Kamara said.
He maintained that his leadership will attempt to unify and reconcile the people after a heated political process that saw bitter exchanges between/amongst partisans of the ruling establishment, CDC and the opposition community.
Representative Kamara also used the occasion to admonish residents to put hands together in ensuring a lovely and peaceful community.
He professed that the days of “wrong representation are no more, noting, this is a different time in which collective effort is needed to ensure that the people feel the right representation”.
