NEC Releases Provisional Results With Opposition Dillon and Ruling Party’s Kamara Taking The Lead


Provisional results of Montserrado County by-Elections to fill in the vacancies of the county’s senatorial and district fifteen representative seats have put the four collaborating political parties’ senatorial candidate Abraham Darius Dillon in the lead over his six counterparts.

The provisional results containing 924 out of total 1790 pooling places constituting 51.62% have surfaced Liberty Party’s Abraham Darius Dillon with 53,270 votes obtained which equates to 53.88 percent while his rival Paulita C C Wie obtained 36,531 votes which is 36.95 percent of the total votes.

Others contesting the senatorial position of Montserrado County according to NEC Provisional Results to include Mohammed Dululy received 2,478 (2.51%) while Macdella Cooper has 2,545 (2.57), Samuel Enders 1,158 (1.17%) , Massa Kanyon 472 (0.48%) and Kimmie Weeks obtained 2,406 (2.43%).

The total of 98,860 valid and 1,659 invalid Votes NEC provisional results disclosed for the senatorial position.

Meanwhile, Ruling Coalition for Democratic Change Representative candidate Abu Kamara for Montserrado County District 15 stepped upfront with 5,515 votes equating to 45.95% percent of the total votes over his close counterpart ,Telia Urey with 4,58 votes equivalent to 39.89%.

Amongst the two are Amos Tubor who received 1,056 votes (8.8%) while Lamenu Kamara got 82 votes (0.68%), Bishop Frank 18 votes (0.15%), Erasmus Fahnbulleh 145 votes(1.21%) and Kelvin Bayoh got 638 votes (5.32%).

With this, the National Elections Commission told journalists Wednesday that the total number of 12,002 valid and 263 invalid votes were observed during tallying process.

NEC at the same time warned against any party’s, individuals or organizations claimed victory until final and official results are announced.

As the final and official results are yet to be announced, electorates are hopeful that the electoral process in the County remains peaceful.
