A concern citizen of Nimba County, Mr. Lincoln Toweh, has accused Superintendent Nelson Korquoi of squandering five hundred thousand Liberian Dollars (L$500, 000) he allegedly received on behalf of the county as gate intake from the 2019/2020 National County Sports Meet.

Korquoi as superintendent is the only legitimate person to collect funds from the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

He told our correspondent that Supt. Korquoi has cashed the cheque at the Central Bank of Liberia after receiving the money in question.

Meanwhile, another reliable source at the youth and sports ministry has also disclosed that the amount under investigation was received by the Superintendent along with two others.

The source further said the sports ministry handed the cheque over to the Superintendent in February, a few weeks after the National County Meet.

When contacted for clarity, Supt. Korquoi, he refused to comment on the matter, government is not run on the media.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Sparks Entertainment Center in Ganta, Mr. Diamond Yormie and Mr. Archie Konah, were unreachable but would be contacted subsequently.

The allegation comes barely weeks after the newly appointed Superintendent, who is also the Chairman of the ruling Coalition of Democratic Change (CDC) Nimba Chapter, was accused of singlehandedly selling scrapes metals belonging to the county.
