After scoring a late goal to rescue Sparkat Moscow II in a 2-2 draw on Wednesday, Liberia’s Russian-based forward Sylvanus Nimley has been named in Sparkat Moscow’s first team squad as they travel to Kazan, a city in southwest Russia, for their premier league match against Rubin Kazan on Monday October 29.
Nimley, 20, was named in the team’s delegation comprising 20 players by acting head coach Raul Riancho.
He is used intermittently in Spartak Moscow team A and B since joining the club in 2017.
FC Spartak Moscow is Russia’s most successful football club from Moscow. They have won 12 Soviet championships and a record 10 Russian championships, a record 10 Soviet Cups, 3 Russian Cups and one Russian Super Cup.
The Red and White boys are currently seated in the 7th position on the league table after collecting 18 points from 11 games and will be looking to increase their points tally tomorrow.
Nimley, formely of Monrovia Club Breweries, was part of the Lone Star Squad for their recent back-to-back games against Congo Brazzaville in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers.
